DK yarn ~ around 60g

4.5mm needles

Tension ~ 21sts = 4” (10cm)
 

Cast on 76sts

Knit 8 rows

 
Pattern:

1st Row:       S1, knit to end

2nd Row:       S1, k4, purl to last 5sts, k5

3rd Row:       S1, k4, *K2tog, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, k1, yo, k1, yo, k2tog, k2tog, repeat from * to last 5sts, k5

4th Row:       S1, knit to end

These 4 rows form the pattern

 
Repeat the last 4rows until the blanket is the length desired (around 13”)

(finish after a 4th pattern row)

 
Finish with a garter stitch border – knit 9 rows

Cast off knitwise

Darn away ends

Cute version of Max Baby Cardigan


MAX - pattern adapted by Diana Hršak - knitted by Diane D. Louw 


This design is a joint effort ~ the original pattern is mine ~ 
but this version with the cute raglan pattern was written by Diana Hršak
and knitted by Diane D. Louw who knits for charities in Cape Town.

Note:

Instead of yrn you  can m1 left and m1 right, the pattern will be without holes.

Also, in the purl rows you can knit stitches that were yrn in the previous row – it will be slightly different  ........

LOMOND Baby Hat

I wanted a really simple but sweet baby hat that would work well for a newborn boy or girl. I know that I have written dozens of hat patterns already - but I love trying out new design ideas :)
 
So ........ here is my latest ~

Size:
Width:             5 ½ “ (14cm)       11” (28cm) all around 
Height:            5 “ (13cm)


Requirements:
Around 11 - 12g of DK yarn
4mm needles  


Pattern:

Cast on 55sts
1st Row:            S1, knit to end of row

Repeat this row 9 times more

11th Row:         S1, *k9, p9, repeat from * to end

12th Row:         S1, k8, * p9, k9, repeat from * to last 10sts, p9, k1

Repeat the last 2 rows 9 times more

 
Shape Top ~

Next Row:        S1, *s1, k1, psso, k5, k2tog, p2tog, p5, p2tog, repeat from * to end        (43sts)

Next Row:       S1, k6, * p7, k7, repeat from * to last 8sts, p7, k1

Next Row:        S1, *s1, k1, psso, k3, k2tog, p2tog, p3, p2tog, repeat from * to end        (31sts)

Next Row:       S1, k4, * p5, k5, repeat from * to last 6sts, p5, k1

12th Row:         S1, k9, * p10, k10, repeat from * to last 11sts, p10, k1

Repeat the last 2 rows 11 times more

(Work should now measure around 4½” – it is easy to adjust the length here)
