Size:
Width:             ~          17” – 18 “
Length:            ~          19”

Tension:
22sts = 4” (10cm)

Requirements:
Around 90g of DK yarn
4mm needles  

Pattern:

Cast on 95sts

1st Row:          S1, knit to end

Repeat the last row 5 times more

7th Row:           S1, knit to end

8th Row:           S1, k4, purl to last 5sts, k5

9th Row:           S1, k4,  *k5, yrn, sl1, k2tog, psso, yrn, rep from * to last 10sts, k10

10th Row:         S1, k4, purl to last 5sts, k5

Repeat these 4 rows until the blanket is the length required (around 18”)

Next Row:       S1, knit to end

Repeat the last row 6 times more

Cast off

Darn away ends
 
 

 

If you would like to make this baby blanket smaller or bigger ~
then reduce or add in multiples of eight stitches

  2. how is yrn (yarn round needle) different from a yarn over (yo)?

    1. I would use yarn over when on a knit stitch and yarn round needle on purl stitch.

    1. I always slip the first stitch of every row knitwise and knit the last stitch. This gives me a neat edge. But it is not critical in any way - so if you prefer a different method that is just fine. M
