LITTLE SURPRISE’ BABY BLANKET

 

For a Newborn Baby Blanket of 24 “


Cast on 104 stitches

 

Start with a garter stitch border - knit 10 rows

 

11th Row:     S1, k5, *p2, yon, k1, yrn, repeat from * to last 8sts, p2, k6

12th Row:     S1, k5, * k2, p3, repeat from * to last 8sts, k8

13th Row:     S1, k5, * p2, k3, repeat from * to last 8sts, p2, k6

14th Row:     S1, k5, * k2, p3tog, repeat from * to last 8sts, k8

 
Repeat the last 4 rows until the blanket measures 24” or the length desired

 
Complete with a garter stitch border – knit 11 rows

 
Cast off knitwise

 
Darn away ends

For an Angel / Micro-Preemie Baby Blanket of 13“


Cast on 55 stitches

 

Start with a garter stitch border - knit 6 rows

 

7th Row:       S1, k3, *p2, yon, k1, yrn, repeat from * to last 6sts, p2, k4

8th Row:       S1, k3, * k2, p3, repeat from * to last 6sts, k6

9th Row:       S1, k3, * p2, k3, repeat from * to last 6sts, p2, k4

10th Row:     S1, k3, * k2, p3tog, repeat from * to last 6sts, k6

 
Repeat the last 4 rows until the blanket measures 14” or the length desired

Complete with a garter stitch border – knit 6 rows

  6. Would really love to know how much yarn used and the gauge??? And what, please, is the difference between yon and yrn? I understand yo - but not sure either of these is that. Thank you! This is so pretty, but I need to know these things before I start. The yarn and I are waiting :-) Jeannie
